DailyVocab ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use our iOS application and website (the "Service"). This policy is designed to comply with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines, including Guideline 5.1 on Privacy.

1. Information We Collect

We believe in data minimization. We only collect the information absolutely necessary to provide you with the Service.

1.1. Data Collected Automatically

Usage Data & Analytics: We collect anonymous data about how you interact with the app (such as the frequency of opening the app, interacting with widgets, and crash reports). This helps us improve stability and user experience.
Device Information: We may collect non-identifiable device details such as your device model, iOS version, and language settings.

1.2. Data You Provide Directly

App Data & Progress: Your vocabulary lists, quiz scores, and learning progress are stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data securely syncs to your personal Apple ID account to seamlessly update across your devices. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Purchases: If you purchase a premium subscription, Apple handles the transaction. We receive an anonymous receipt to unlock features, but we never see or store your payment details or billing address.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is strictly used for the following purposes:

To operate, maintain, and provide the features of the Service.
To understand and analyze the usage trends and preferences of our users, to improve the Service.
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or crashes.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We may share anonymous, aggregated data with third-party service providers solely to facilitate our Service. These third parties have access to your Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

4. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) & Third-Party Tracking

We respect your tracking preferences as mandated by Apple. We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for targeted advertising purposes without your explicit permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If we introduce features requiring tracking in the future, you will be explicitly prompted to opt-in.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain anonymous analytics data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Since your personal learning data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account, you can permanently delete all your data at any time by:

Deleting the DailyVocab app from your device.
Managing your iCloud storage settings to delete DailyVocab data from your Apple ID account.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

7. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you. Since we do not maintain accounts on our servers and your data is stored on your device/iCloud, you maintain complete control over your data directly through your iOS settings.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or Apple's App Store Guidelines. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top.
